War Workers Badge (1)

Description:

Official badge issued to female munition workers during the First World War.  This one was worn at the Gretna Munitions Plant.  The badge showed that the wearer was a recognised war worker.

 

The badge is an open triangle surrounding a crown.  It has the legend ON WAR SERVICE and the date 1916.
