Hospital Ward in Dick Institute

This postcard was one of many created for wounded soldiers so that they could write messages home from hospital.  During the 1st World War, the local library and museum in Kilmarnock, the Dick Institute, saw service as a hospital for men wounded in France.  In this picture you can clearly see the natural history displays still in situ.  This is probably a view taken in what is now the North Museum Wing.
