Two-handed great sword

The great sword is a cousin of the Scottish Claymore in terms of its size and use. The great sword, so called for its oversize hilt and blade, was too heavy to be wielded one-handed, and required two hands on the grip for leverage, with one hand pushing and the other pulling to manoeuvre the sword. The weapon was slow to wield due to its size and weight, but devastating when the target was met.   This great sword was likely used as a collection centerpiece by collectors such as the 8th Howard de Walden, and it is unlikely it was used in battle. The great sword has large ring guards on its quillons, and features a triple fluted blade.
