Hand-and-a-Half Sword

The hand-and-a-half sword is the sword size between a one-handed sword and a two-handed sword. The grip was typically somewhat larger than the grip of a one-handed sword so that the soldier could put an extra hand on the grip for hard blows and put more force behind the blow. This sword would have been suitable for light sword fights, it has a typical Flemish pommel form dated to the 15th and 16th century. The grip of the sword is detailed metal chain which is pleated and twists around the grip.
