Brig o' Doon

George Houston produced a series of etchings entitled Burns Country. It was made up of depictions of different sites around Ayrshire with which Burns was associated at various stages in his life. The series was published in May 1915 and was accompanied by text written by Houston's friend Neil Munro. This print shows the late Medieval bridge over the River Doon which was made famous by Robert Burns as the bridge over which Tam O' Shanter escaped on his mare Meg.
