Couple with lino rolls

This couple are standing with their stock in trade - rolls of linoleum floor covering. Lino, made by coating a backing of woven jute with a mixture of powdered cork, linseed oil, roisin and pigment, was produced mainly in Kirkcaldy. The couple probably travelled to Fife to buy lino direct from the factories.
