Throughout the ages, music has had the capacity to bring us all together as a cultural activity and art form. In many cultures, music is an important part of people's way of life, as it can play a key role in religious rituals, ceremonial rites, and social activities. People can make music as a hobby or to produce entertainment for the commercial marketplace. With the advent of sound recording, records of popular songs, rather than sheet music, became the dominant way that music lovers would enjoy their favourite songs.
