Brodick Pier

David Farquharson was a self taught artist from Perthshire. He favoured landscapes as subject matter and painted both the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland. In this scene, fishing boats lie idle while a steam ship delivers its cargo of holidaymakers to Arran onto the pier in the summer sunshine.
